This is an interesting idea:

Re: New browser stuff

Looks like something else to freeze up this piece of badger turd I'm currently surfing the interwebs on....

....why does that look cool in my head?

(surfing dried badger turds on inter-spiders-webs!!)

Re: New browser stuff

Pretty handy, but you can essentially do the same thing with bookmarks...  Only difference is the visualization.

Not only is the glass half empty, it is also broken... and laced with cyanide.

Re: New browser stuff

The more I think about this, the less innovative it seems... I got a bookmark function... same thing.

Re: New browser stuff

True, but a bookmark only bookmarks one page, not a group of pages.  And it's true you could create a bookmark category and group pages into that, but then they're just that... bookmarks.  They're not active pages.  I believe the intent behind this isn't so much to save these groups for later use, though I'm guessing you could use it that way, but if you're one of those people that keeps 10+ tabs open at a time, all day long during the course of your work, you could keep them open and active and organized more easily this way.

Re: New browser stuff

Ya, I get that, and I do think it would make things a little easier and faster, but I do the same thing with my bookmarks tab when I'm doing research and other tasks, and get on tangents...  It's cool, I just think it's a pretty logical evolution... not the genius innovation that the article was hyping.

Re: New browser stuff

I think the most innovative aspect of it is being able to share your tab groups with others, which could really come in handy if you're working on a project with some other people.

Re: New browser stuff

That's right... I was forgetting that.  They do already have that though, through specific (and expensive) programs, just not as a general browser feature.
